Cabinet of Mao Zedong

Open Agenda

Under Secretary General: Berra Ören

This committee dives back to the man who established and put a red sun above people’s republic of China. Mao Zedong was a pivotal figure in Chinese history, best known for leading the Communist Party of China to victory over the Nationalist Kuomintang Party during the Chinese Civil War (1945–1949). Mao was chosen Chairman of the People’s Republic of China after its establishment in 1949. Under Mao’s leadership, China underwent massive sociopolitical changes, including land reforms, the Great Leap Forward (1958-1962), and the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976). These programs aimed to develop China into a socialist state, with a concentration on community agriculture and industrialization.
